Today I had the pleasure of exploring the crumbling remains of historic Fort Macomb. The fort was built is 1822 to defend the waterways against British invasion and housed Confederates during the Civil War before being retaken by the Union.

The clouds were coming in and thunder was booming nearby as I scampered around the fort looking for different perspectives to shoot from. There is an actual moat that almost entirely circles the fort. Hands down one of the coolest places I’ve explored since relocating to the South. Hope to come back for a picnic one day soon.
